Die MMG Finance Group agiert unter den Namen „MMG Finance Group (Generali Group)“ sowie „Morgan & Morgan (MMG Bank Corporation)“. Zudem bezeichnet sie sich als Unternehmen der JP Morgan Chase & Co sowie der Generali Group. Damit entsteht der Eindruck, dass MMG Finance Group in einem Zusammenhang mit lizensierten Instituten steht bzw. selbst ein zugelassenes Institut ist. Das trifft aber nicht zu.
Die BaFin weist darauf hin, dass sie der MMG Finance Group mit dem angeblichen Sitz in Großbritannien keine Erlaubnis gemäß § 32 Kreditwesengesetz (KWG) zum Betreiben von Bankgeschäften oder Erbringen von Finanzdienstleistungen erteilt hat. Das Unternehmen untersteht nicht der Aufsicht der BaFin und ist nicht berechtigt, in Deutschland als Bank zu firmieren.

BaFin points out that it has not granted the MMG Finance Group, with its alleged headquarters in the United Kingdom, permission to conduct banking business or provide financial services in accordance with section 32 of the German Banking Act (KWG). The company is not subject to BaFin supervision and is not authorized to operate as a bank in Germany.
